The Wedding

My daughter Rebecca and Brent were married at Sault www.sault.com.au in Daylesford, 4.30 on Friday. Although it had rained in the morning the sun came out for the ceremony, it was quite cold and windy but at least no rain. My other daughter Holly was matron of honour and my grand daughter Isabella was flowergirl. We had lots of bubbly lots of dancing and we all had a good night. I am glad its over though!

Wedding countdown is on

Now that all the quilting is finished for before the wedding I can concentrate on getting the housework done before the guests arrive as well as hopefully make a bracelet and earrings to match the necklace I have made to wear.

This necklace was pictured on the front cover of Creative Beading magazine vol 1 no 4 I think. I had always loved it but once I had picked my outfit the colours went perfectly so I purchased the kit from Beadworx www.beadworx.net.au and made it up.

Finished at last!

Finally finished!

Last of the local show quilts is Brendas lovely quilt.

She has used civil war reproduction fabrics in this quilt. It was a bit of a challenge as it was very difficult to see where I was going to do the mctavishing/outlining as the background was patterned.

It didn't have quite the finish I would have liked because of the batting she provided and it also had one of my pet hates, a contrasting backing so all the stops and starts are glaringly obvious but not much I could do about it.

Head down bum up!

One more finished, only one to go.

Here is Maxines cute fairy quilt. I couldn't stitch in the ditch in a lot of areas as Maxine had put a lot of beads on the quilt so I went for a freehand leaf and vine pattern which I thought suited the fabrics used and tried to outline as close as possible where I could.

Sue's Tea and Scones quilt

Busy busy busy! I have another custom quilt finished this week, now only (??!!) two to go before the show at the end of March start of April, wedding time.
One more thing out of the way the dreaded wedding outfit has been picked so at least I don't have to worry about that. Shoes are done only need a bag now, easy.
Here are some photos of Sues gorgeous quilt Tea and Scones which is a pattern by Robyn Falloon.
